The Dragon’s Can Fly

We had a great visit with my Uncle Ken yesterday. He’s done a lot of things in his life so has tons of stories to tell. It turned out that the weather was absolutely perfect again, although somewhat hazy. It gave the water a metallic sheen – really pretty.

Grace enjoyed the visit as well. Since there was so little wind I felt comfortable having her out of her cage and sitting on a little table. She enjoyed herself immensely.

Last evening was the first time this year that we’ve seen dragonflies buzzing our site. There wasn’t so much wind buffeting the shore. I’m sure they are feasting on the tiny little bugs that congregate so thickly. They are amazing little helicopters.

The water was so calm and still yesterday morning that you could see to the bottom when standing on shore. We did manage to get out for a swim later in the day and the water was so clear you could see the little minnows swimming on the bottom even when chest deep. I think it was the best day for swimming yet (although the big waves are fun too).

Kindness is in our power, even when fondness is not.
