Driving “the gap”

We saw several amazing things today so I’m going to break it up into different posts. This one is about driving the gap between the centre block and the west block. The road makes its way down from the heights of the centre block, then winds its way up and around the hilly prairie area below. Once we reached the other side the road switchbacks back up another 1000 or more feet to the West block heights.

The road is a rough gravel road – “impassable when wet”. We crossed over several texas gates and among herds of cattle. It really was something else.

It was hard to pick just a few photos…
